Water Quality Monitoring

Coastal Monitoring Alliance simplifies the collection of spatial water quality and current data with our state-of-the-art uncrewed surface vessel (USV) equipped with an array of advanced sensors:

  • ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler): Provides precise measurements of water currents and velocities.

  • Salinity/Temperature Sensors: Offers real-time data on water salinity and temperature variations.

  • Dissolved Oxygen Sensors: Measures oxygen levels crucial for assessing aquatic health.

Our USV can effortlessly:

  • Measure Full Water Column Profiles: Providing comprehensive data on water quality parameters at different depths.

  • Maintain a Fixed Distance Off the Bottom: Enabling precise mapping of features such as hypoxia zones and other spatial data requirements.

The data collected by our USV serves multiple purposes:

  • Mapping Hypoxia: Identifying areas with low oxygen levels for targeted mitigation efforts.

  • Supporting Modeling Activities: Providing valuable inputs for predictive models and simulations.

  • Enhancing Spatial Data: Contributing to the understanding of bay dynamics and informing management strategies.
